Transfer Students: Admissions Timetable

When is your Cornell application due? It depends on whether you're planning to transfer in the fall or spring semester. Below is a handy timetable you may want to print to help you keep your application on track.

The turnaround times for spring-semester admission are very short, and you will need to plan accordingly when putting together your application and compiling supporting materials. Admission notifications are made on a rolling basis. We will need to know as soon as possible after you receive notification whether you're planning to attend.
Filing period for Transfer Common Application and Cornell Transfer Supplement October 1 to November 1
Deadline for financial-aid applicants to submit Transfer Financial Aid Application and 2006 income tax returns to Cornell. November 1*
Deadline for financial-aid applicants to submit the CSS PROFILE application and the FAFSA to the processor. November 1
Transfer Day---open house for prospective transfers to Agriculture and Life Sciences, Human Ecology, and Industrial and Labor Relations. November 2
Architecture and art portfolio and interview due. Hotel Adminstration interview due. November 15
Admission decisions and financial-aid awards announced. December
Reply to offer of admission. Early January

Deadline for financial-aid applicants to submit Transfer Financial Aid Application and 2006 income tax returns to Cornell. March 15*
Deadline for financial-aid applicants to submit the CSS PROFILE application and the FAFSA to the processor. (The FAFSA may be submitted to the processor as late as May 1 for Cornell.) March 15
Architecture and art portfolio and interview due. Hotel Adminstration interview due. March 31
Admission decisions and financial-aid awards announced. May and June
Reply to offer of admission. Early June or two weeks after notification and receipt of financial aid package, which ever is later

*Please note: late applications will not be considered for Cornell-based grant aid.
