Getting to Ithaca

Whether you are getting to Ithaca by plane, bus, or car, the following information will help you plan your trip to Ithaca.

By Plane:

Ithaca's airport, the Tompkins County Airport, is 10 minutes from campus and is served by USAirways and Northwest Airlines. Once on the ground, limousine, taxi, and car rental services are available.

From the Syracuse Airport, there are limousines which serve Ithaca and are very convenient. For more information, please call the Ithaca Airline Limousine at (800) 273-9197.

By Car:

For directions to Ithaca, consult your local AAA or travel agent or visit: http://www.cornell.edu/visiting/ithaca/directions_car.cfm. Once in Ithaca, follow signs to Cornell University. We are located on the east hill above Ithaca. Once on campus, stop at one of the Visitor Parking and Information Booths for a permit and directions on where to park. The Undergraduate Admissions Office, located at 410 Thurston Avenue, offers a limited number of visitor parking spaces. Visitors will need to register their car with the receptionist.

By Bus:

There is bus service to Ithaca via Greyhound, Shortline, and Trailways Bus Lines from most cities on the East Coast. Taxis and TCAT bus service are available from the downtown bus station. TCAT buses run Monday through Saturday with limited service on Sundays.
