Frequently Asked Questions About Admissions

Q: How and when do I get my I-20?

A: In order to receive an I-20, students must:

  1. be accepted to Cornell.
  2.
  3. indicate they will enroll by submitting the $400 acceptance deposit.
  4.
  5. document their ability to meet the cost of attendance by submitting the Declaration of Finances form.

All admitted international students will receive the Declaration of Finances form. In most cases, visa documentation and approval require more time than in the past, so submit your Declaration of Finances form as soon as you send your acceptance deposit.  For further information, see the following Web sites: http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_1750.html and www.isso.cornell.edu.
