Choosing the Right Information Session
Cornell offers general university information sessions and college-specific information sessions. All sessions are about an hour long and provide plenty of time for questions and answers.
Wondering which type of session is right for you? The following descriptions may help you make a good choice.
University Information Sessions
University Information Sessions are typically offered on select Saturdays only. Please refer to the information session schedule for exact dates offered.
These sessions provide a general introduction to Cornell: its mission; the seven undergraduate colleges; student life; and the overall admissions application process. Students at the beginning of their college search who haven't narrowed their choice to one college at Cornell will find these sessions useful. Applicants who have academic or career interests that span more than one college---business, premed/vet, or prelaw study, for example---will also benefit from a general introduction to Cornell.
College Information Sessions
These sessions focus on college-specific information: the college's mission; its curriculum and majors; research, internships, and career services; student organizations; and college admissions policies and requirements. If you've already decided which college interests you most at Cornell and you want in-depth information about that college, you would be wise to attend the appropriate college session. In addition, if you are trying to decide between two colleges at Cornell, you would certainly be welcome to attend both college sessions to help you make a well-informed decision before you apply.
An Introduction to Cornell: Access, Affordability, and Outcomes
These sessions are typically offered on Mondays and Fridays. Please refer to the information session schedule for exact days offered.
These sessions will introduce Cornell University to you and will feature information about our history as well as the depth and breadth of our academic opportunities for undergraduate students.
