Cancellation of Visit Programs at Cornell University

Given the recent public health concerns regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19), and following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the New York State Department of Health, the university has implemented enhanced policies for visitors to campus and large events.

Effective, Monday, March 9, Cornell is canceling all non-essential events or work-related gatherings where a significant number of participants are expected to travel to or from the region for the event. Unfortunately, this includes campus tours and visitor events. While we hope to resume regular campus visits and events on April 15, we will reassess these policies later this spring.

We understand that such cancellations are disruptive and disappointing, but it is essential that we prioritize both the health and safety of our campus community as well as our alumni, friends, and visitors to campus.

If you have already made travel arrangements to come to campus, we encourage you to modify or cancel those plans. Additional information is available on Cornell's coronavirus webpage.
