Cornell University will be closed from Saturday, December 24, for Winter Break Recess and Re-Open on Tuesday, January 3

Cornell University is closed Saturday, December 24, through Monday, January 2, for the Winter Break Recess.

The university will reopen on Tuesday, January 3. We will not be responding to emails or phone calls during this time.

For applications submitted in the days following January 2:

If the application and application fee (or waiver/waiver request) are submitted by the deadline, it is fine for other required application materials to be submitted or arrive shortly thereafter. Should you have any issues submitting the application and application fee (or waiver/waiver request) by the deadline, please know that we understand that this can happen and we have always allowed a few days of grace around the January 2 regular decision admissions application deadline. Your application will be considered “on time” and without penalty if your application is received by January 16, 2023. If an application arrives to us by January 16, students do not need to contact our office to request a formal extension.

For answers to questions you might have, please see our frequently asked questions. In addition, if you are a regular decision candidate, please see this message https://blogs.cornell.edu/admissions/2022/12/23/rd-2023/ from Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions, Shawn Felton. For questions not answered by our frequently asked questions, we will be happy to get back to you after the Winter Break Recess beginning Tuesday, January 3. Please note, due to the high volume of email we receive during this busy time, we may take up to 3 business days from when we return to the office to respond to email.
