I have been challenged everyday, but the challenges have made me such an independent
thinker and confident speaker, I think I have changed so much during my 4 years at Cornell
and do not know where else that could have happened. Cornell is uniquely suited to push
its’ students to grow.
I will be working as a medical assistant or in a research position before attending medical
school.
The Sidney Cox Music Library, a little bit of a lesser-known spot on campus but it is so
beautiful and has wonderfully lit cubicles perfect to focus in.
I am always in Temple of Zeus doing work, love Olin & Music Library, and enjoy sitting on the
Alpha Chi Omega, Rho Psi Eta, research on campus, teaching assistant for multiple
courses, President of A&S Ambassadors, Student Advisor for the Office of Undergraduate Biology.
While I knew I was premed, I wanted to opportunity to study both the sciences and
continue my Italian language study. When applying to colleges, A&S stuck out to me
because there were so many students combining their passions from seemingly diEerent
fields and the academic diversity was encouraged and celebrated.
I am passionate about delivering empathetic healthcare to diverse populations. Biological
Sciences has given me a strong foundational knowledge to help me in my career, while my
studies in the Italian department have helped me to become an effective communicator
and speak about differences.
My advising dean – Nora Bailey has been such a huge help to me throughout my years here
and every time I walk out of a meeting with her, I feel better than when I walked in.
The Career Development Office sends out regular updates and is always hosting different
events and offering support; having a quiet space near my classes to go on an interview call
is a huge help during a busy day.
The OUB, Office of Undergraduate Biology, offers so much wonderful advice from course
related content to extracurricular opportunities; it is so valuable to have a space to connect
with both students and faculty.
I wish that I had reached out to more students to directly hear their experiences, there are
so many people at Cornell (such as the A&S Ambassadors) who want to connect with
prospective students and share more about their Cornell experience.
I really enjoyed welcome events put on at the beginning of the year and often attended with
friends I met in class. Through Alpha Chi Omega, I met countless women who I am proud to
call my closest friends at Cornell!
Temple of Zeus- iced vanilla oat latte and one of the soups of the day! My favorites are the
Ratatouille and the tomato saEron rice.
Take a walk around the lake at Stewart Park!
My friends and I love going to the hockey games, and sophomore year we beat Harvard
twice during playoEs, such an exciting display of school spirit!
I am motivated by my family, my mother and all grandparents immigrated from Sicily to the
United States in search of a better life and their bravery inspires me to work hard to honor
their sacrifices.
ITAL 2290: Italian Mysteries. I had never known that mysteries were such a wide genre in Italian literature and at the end of the semester I got to write my own short story!
