My favorite thing about Cornell is just the wealth of opportunity: to meet people, take fun classes, get involved, and bask in Ithaca's beautiful nature.
I love being able to take distribution classes in the College of Arts and Sciences that widen my breadth of knowledge and often actually become some of my favorite classes!
My favorite thing about studying statistics is that I think it makes sense of a chaotic world, and it's cool to find tools to show trends that can actually lead to insights.
I like having Cornell Health as a place for me to get checked when I am feeling under the weather (they have a bunch of medicine!) In terms of academics, office hours are crucial for me to get help if I'm stuck on homework; most TAs are super helpful.
One piece of advice I wish I had known when I was applying is not to apply to too many schools. I ended up wasting time and money on applications for schools that I was not too excited about. I would make sure you actually could see yourself happy at every school you apply to (especially safety schools).
I actually met some friends from my home state at an event held for Cornellians before getting on campus in Sudbury, MA (but this is super lucky). Otherwise, I met people in classes and in my dorm, and I think the best thing about Cornell is that there are always new people to meet.
My favorite eatery on campus is Terrace, and the orange chicken burrito bowl is actually heavenly.
I chose Cornell because of its world-class education, safe location, and wealth of opportunity.
My favorite thing to do in Ithaca is either go to the cat cafe or eat out (there are so many great restaurants). I also love nature walks, so I love walking the gorge trails or at Stewart Park.
My favorite Cornell memory is my first year slope day (with Flo Rida). The weather was fantastic, and I just sang and danced with my friends. The vibes were unbelievable.
The work ethic of my parents is inspiring, and I just want to make them proud.
My favorite class so far has been AMST 3370, a theater class about how theater responds to historical events. I loved it because it was an opportunity to reflect on society and read some high-quality plays. I feel like I got to mature through taking this class.
The combination of the tight-knit community and living in Ithaca is what makes the Cornell experience unique.
My plans after graduation are to attend graduate school.
My favorite study spot is the bookable rooms in Olin Library, or the cocktail lounge.
My favorite spot on campus is the slope, a great place for watching sunsets and relaxing.
