Chinese Students Association, talking to people in class and clubs, and my sorority. Coming from Indiana, I didn't really know anyone else at Cornell and was intimidated at first. Joining Greek life and clubs like Cornell App Development and the Chinese Students Association has helped me meet new people and make genuine connections with hardworking and amazing people.
I was drawn to the location and nature of Ithaca and the broad majors and minors in Arts & Sciences. I've always felt like a "jack of all trades" because I had so many diverse interests and wasn't sure about what I wanted to do. I felt like Cornell had multiple strong programs from STEM to business to engineering, so I could also switch to other areas of study if my interests were to change.

There are so many different classes and majors and people from all over the world here. It's really a place of exploration and opportunity. Everyone is so unique in their interests and background, and I feel I'm constantly learning something new. I feel like I'm always being challenged to grow both intellectually and personally.
After a really hard day studying for prelims, I walked out of the library and the weather and sunset was just so beautiful. It's places like this that make me realize how small some of my problems are.
People and their stories.
Global Film and Cinema. I've always been interested in the camera and its role in how we perceive life and emotion. As a romcom fan and pre-med student, I've loved getting to view different genres and forms of experimental film, cinema from different cultures, and understand how history and cinema are so intertwined.
Not sure yet, hopefully medical or dental school!

As someone with so many interests, I love the & in Arts & Sciences, allowing me to explore a breadth of disciplines in both information science and psychology. Even though I'm on the pre-health track and taking many STEM classes, I'm currently taking Global Film & Cinema for distribution requirements and have loved bridging STEM with the humanities. I also enjoyed completing the language requirement, which allowed me to really immerse myself in not only the language, but also the culture. I felt like I was able to connect with my heritage after taking the class in a way I hadn't been able to before.
