When I was applying to colleges, Cornell always stood out to me. I loved the campus and how it is surrounded by nature, creating a unique environment to live and study. Academically, Cornell's world-leading research and strong classroom instruction made it an easy choice.
My go-to place to eat on campus is Morrison Dining Hall. I love it because it offers so many options and accommodates different dietary needs, which makes it easy to find something I enjoy. My favorite thing to order is anything at the Wok station, and it's always a great place to eat while catching up with friends.
My favorite memory at Cornell so far would have to be playing intramural soccer with my friends. Those games are special to me because they brought us together as a team, and some of my closest friendships have grown out of the time we spent playing, cheering each other on, and just having fun together
What inspires me most is being at Cornell and surrounded by my peers. Everyone here is incredibly hardworking and passionate about what they do—from waking up at 5:30 a.m. to go to the gym to studying together late into the night. Seeing that level of dedication motivates me to push myself and strive for my own goals.
My favorite class so far has been my PE class, horse riding polo. I love it because it challenges me physically and mentally, and it brings me back to my childhood, growing up riding horses. It's also a fun way to spend time with friends while learning a new skill and enjoying a sport I've always loved.

My favorite thing about Cornell is the diversity within the student body. It's incredible to meet people from about anywhere in the world, each with unique backgrounds and experiences that truly broaden your perspective and make this community such a great place.
My favorite thing to do in Ithaca is hike to the local waterfalls and explore the running trails. Being in nature is a great way to unwind, and the Finger Lakes region makes every outing feel special. It's also a fun way to spend time with friends or discover a quiet spot to think.
CALS is a great fit for me because it offers much more than the traditional agricultural school experience. Cornell provides incredible opportunities and connections through its research, programs, and alumni, allowing its students to explore agriculture in innovative and impactful ways that you can't find anywhere else.
Growing up on a farm in Southeast Ohio influenced me to pursue an education focused around the environment and agriculture. Experiencing firsthand how natural resources and policy affect both agriculture and communities, sparked my interest in studying Environmental & Sustainability. At Cornell, this allows me to better understand these systems and policies that affect them, preparing me for my goal of attending law school and working to protect the environment while also protecting rural communities like the one I grew up in.
My go-to campus resources are conversations with other students and academic advisors. Talking with peers has helped me learn about different opportunities, classes, and experiences at Cornell, while advisors have been helpful in guiding my academic path in Environment & Sustainability and thinking about my long-term goal of attending law school. I first discovered how valuable these connections were through orientation and by getting involved in the campus community.
One piece of advice I would give prospective students is to trust that you will end up where you are meant to be. The application process can feel stressful, but it's important to stay authentic and true to yourself. Your genuine experiences and passions are what matter most.
I met some of my closest friends during orientation week events, where a group of us decided to start an intramural soccer team together. We still see each other all the time, and that experience helped create friendships that have lasted throughout my time at Cornell. I've also met many of my friends through my dorm, where it's easy to connect with people and build a community. Cornell is such a large and diverse campus that you will definitely find your people.
After graduating from Cornell, I hope to travel and spend a year or two gaining practical experience through a job or internship before going to law school. I see this as an opportunity to learn more about the real-world challenges I want to address in my future legal career.
My favorite place to study is the Reading Room in Uris Library. I love the quiet, focused atmosphere and the large windows that let in natural light. It's the perfect spot to dive into coursework, reflect, or work on projects without distractions.
I don't have a single favorite spot on campus, but I would probably say the dorms on North Campus. As I'm still a first-year, I've still made so many fun memories with friends there—from late-night conversations to spontaneous hangouts—and it's been such a central part of my Cornell experience.
