Life as a Cornell Student in Photos
Blog Post
One of the main reasons I chose Cornell University was not just for the world-renowned education, the incredibly kind and diverse student body, or the delicious dining hall food. Now you may ask, what could be better than Morrison’s famous pizza? I give you the campus of Cornell University. From my daily walks to class to the beautiful libraries, I am surrounded by a campus that not only is a beautiful backdrop to my college life, but also brightens my mood throughout the day. Here are a few of my favorite spots on campus:
First, I had to show the famous slope. And while it may not be super fun to walk up, the view from the top is a beautiful sight, especially during the desired picnic-worthy golden hours.
And on the way to the slope from North Campus, students always walk through the Arts Quad. Not only is it a great view of the famous Cornell clocktower, but during the day it is filled with students playing frisbee on the grass or student organizations gearing up for new events. This is my favorite place to “live the college experience.”
Next is a place that can be heard throughout all of Cornell’s campus: Schoellkopf Field. The home of Cornell spirit, from the football team to the Big Red Marching Band, there are always events happening here. My favorite event during the fall is the Homecoming Game, where both alumni and students alike pack the stadium and cheer on our fellow Cornellians.
The next photo is a staple in every Cornell student’s academic career: the A.D. White Library. However, this is better known as the Harry Potter library among students. If you're looking for a library that aids the dark academia vibe, then this is the place for you. And during the winter, this is the perfect place to snuggle up with a good book.
Last but not least is the beautiful gorges you can find around campus. Coming across the bridge from North Campus to Central Campus, the waterfalls and foliage are known to take one’s breath away. And for first-year students, this is the daily walk that many stop to take photos of.
However, Cornell is not just a beautiful campus. In fact, I would argue that Cornell is such a unique and special campus because of the student body. From the hike across the waterfalls to the football stadium, and the many, many libraries, only come to life with the friends I walk with. And I wouldn’t have it any other way!
