One thing I wish I had known when applying is that there isn't a single perfect path, personal statement, or supplemental essay that guarantees your admission. It's more important to explain to admissions what genuinely interests you rather than trying to check every box. The experiences that ended up shaping me the most were the ones I am truly passionate about and dedicated my time to. Rather than attempting to pile on as many clubs as possible, spend time and become a leader in the ones that mean the most to you. Also - keep an open mind! One of the best things about Cornell is that the extensive majors, minors, and fields of study mean that experts in these fields will be at your fingertips! Allow yourself to discover new passions, expand on the ones you come in with, and keep an open mind to career possibilities.
