The biggest thing I would say is to not count yourself out before you even apply. It is easy to think that because you did not have some national title or a long list of awards in high school, you are not competitive enough. I remember thinking like that too, but that kind of thinking only holds you back. Just be yourself. Do not try to change your values or shape your story into what you think admissions wants to hear. Cornell is looking for people who are genuinely driven and passionate about what they care about. If you stay true to who you are and communicate what motivates you, that authenticity will speak for itself.
