When I was applying, I chose Cornell not just because of the academics, but because of the community and the way the campus feels alive with opportunity. Even as a first-year, you are encouraged to explore, get involved, and meet people from all kinds of backgrounds. I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do yet, but I knew that being in a place where curiosity is celebrated and doors are open would let me figure it out. I also loved that Cornell pushes you to try things you might not have considered before, whether that is clubs, research, outreach programs, or just casual conversations with someone in a completely different field. That freedom to explore while being supported made it clear that this is the kind of environment where I could personally grow.
