I've found that joining school clubs or community groups is a prime way to make friends with similar interests. Beyond that, simple engagement in my classes and dorm activities proved to be just as effective. Friendships often blossomed naturally by sitting next to someone, starting a conversation, and then transitioning to things like library study sessions or working on a group project together.
