Through classes, the dining hall, and literally just passing by them on campus. Everyone, especially as a first-year student, is in the same boat of being nervous about making new friends. You are the one who is ultimately in control, and if you want to make friends, it is important to remember that everyone is actively trying to, so don't be afraid to reach out! I met all of my best friends by making that first step, and I'm beyond grateful for doing so.
