One of my favorite places in Ithaca has to be The Soil Factory. They offer beginner pottery classes periodically on the weekends, and I go there often to practice on the wheel and do some hand building. Even if you have no experience with crafting, it's an incredibly welcoming space with very friendly people. It's also a really nice escape from busy classes, and they have a ton of other cool programs, like mending sessions, film screenings, and even print and garden workshops!
