Answer
I have been able to find very close friends by participating in clubs and events that are genuinely of interest to me. A lot of this has been through my involvement in student organizations but also through taking the chance of going to a random on-campus event that seems interesting. By going to these events, I've met people with similar interests and been able to take advantage of Cornell's active campus. My advice to any incoming student would be to say yes to things, even when you're not sure what to expect.
