Last year, I had the privilege of traveling to Panama and representing Cornell at the World University Debate Championships. It was an enriching ten-day experience, filled with intense debates and exciting excursions. We engaged in discussions on a diverse range of topics, including economics, politics, philosophy, and art, broadening my understanding of these subjects and the countries represented by my fellow debaters.

Beyond the academic aspects, I also formed deep bonds with my debate team. We embarked on thrilling hikes, explored the iconic Panama Canal, and indulged in the deliciousness of plantains while debating late into the night. These shared experiences created a strong sense of friendship among us.
