Debunking Common College Misconceptions- Part One

Before I started at Cornell, I had a whole mental list of what college was supposed to be like. Some of it came from social media, movies, personal stories, and a lot from the pressure of attending a big-name Ivy League school. Turns out, a lot of it wasn’t true. Here are a few college myths that some of my peers and even I believed, and what my experience has been like.  

Adapting to an Ithaca Winter from a Warmer Climate

As someone originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, California, I’m used to a much warmer and temperate climate. So, needless to say, my first two years in Ithaca were an adjustment! But I’m here to tell you that yes, although the winters can be long and cold, they’re not impossible to get through, and who knows – you might even learn to love the snow a little bit by the end of your time at Cornell!
