Meet Cannon
Cannon’s favorite thing about Cornell is the passionate community of peers, and he feels inspired hearing about their unique stories and interests. Likewise, he believes that the application essay is a great way for a student to share their story and showcase who they are.
What clubs/activities are you involved with on campus?
I am part of the group Native American and Indigenous Students at Cornell and the American Indian Science and Engineering Society.
What is your favorite thing about Cornell?
The community. Every Cornell student is so passionate about what they do, and it is inspiring to hear other people talk about their interests.
Why is the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences a great fit for you?
CALS is an excellent fit for me because it is very flexible with requirements, and I have been able to take classes way outside of the discipline of my major.
What is one piece of advice or something you wish you knew when you were applying?
Writing your essay is your opportunity to showcase yourself and who you are. Use this time to differentiate yourself from the other applicants and show your unique qualities.
Where is your go-to place to eat on campus, and what is your favorite thing to order?
The French Dip at Goldie's Café in the Physical Sciences Building is my favorite for sure.
