How to Submit Your Counselor Recommendation
Processing Time
Checklist update processing times vary with application volume. Near deadlines, submitted materials may take up to two weeks to appear as “received” in your applicant portal.
Cornell requires a Counselor Recommendation as part of your application. Counselor Recommendations may be submitted in any of the following ways:
- (Preferred method) Through the Common Application recommender invitation tool under My Colleges > Cornell University > Recommenders and FERPA
- (Second preferred method) Via approved online document delivery services. Cornell University Undergraduate Admissions will accept counselor evaluations sent via:
- Parchment (including Naviance portals)
- SCOIR
- Slate.org
- (Alternate method) If the above methods are not available, applicants may send transcripts by printing the form from your application account, providing it to your counselor to complete, and ensuring it is submitted by mail or by email (to applicant@cornell.edu)
Please use only one submission method. Do not send duplicate copies unless instructed to do so by an admissions representative.
