Understanding Cornell's Waitlist
You are being offered a place on Cornell University's Waitlist because given enrollment limitations, we cannot offer you admission at this time. Keeping your name on our waitlist will give you the opportunity to keep your application active until we determine whether there will be additional space in the Class of 2029.
Processing Time

A dean, registrar, advisor, or another college official who has access to your records must complete the College/Registrar Report. The form should be filled out as completely as possible, and the background information section is required. Cornell University cannot review your application without a completed College/Registrar Report.

The Mid-Term Report is completed by the applicant for the courses in which you are enrolled at the time of your application. If midterm grades are not available when you apply, the report should be submitted as soon as grades become available.

Cornell University requires official transcripts from all colleges attended. Official transcripts must be signed or stamped with an official seal of the institution. To be considered official, transcripts must be sent using one of the following methods:

Your counselor or designated school official should submit your mid-year grades from 12th grade, when available. We understand that some applicants attending schools on a trimester schedule may not have new grade information to report at the time of submission; in those cases, mid-year grades do not need to be sent.

Portfolios and design supplements are due November 1 for Early Decision and January 2 for Regular Decision. The deadline for supplemental materials is November 14 for Early Decision and January 16 for Regular Decision.
